Privacy

Last updated October 11, 2026.

Short version: MaPC has no telemetry, and this website has no analytics, no cookies and no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. We don’t sell your data and we don’t show ads.

Who we are

MaPC is made by Steale LLC (“we”). We decide how the personal data described on this page is used. Contact us at support@mapc.games.

The MaPC app

  • We collect no personal or usage data through the app.
  • You sign in to Steam, Epic Games and GOG on their own pages. Their login tokens are kept on your Mac, in a folder only your user account can read. MaPC never sees your passwords.
  • The app connects to the internet to download game engines and tools (from GitHub), cover art and store data (from the stores), and, if you support MaPC, to check your license with Gumroad. Those companies can see your internet (IP) address when that happens.
  • If you use save backup, saves are copied only to the folder you choose, such as iCloud Drive. They are never sent to us.
  • The Wall of Fame list is downloaded from this website. It holds only names supporters chose to publish.

Supporting MaPC

Payments are handled by Gumroad, which is the seller of record. Gumroad receives your payment details, email and anything you type at checkout, under its own privacy policy. We receive the sale details Gumroad shows us: your email, name if given, country, the amount, the license key, and the name you chose for the Wall of Fame.

We use these details to send and manage your license (it’s needed to fulfil your purchase), to give support, to keep accounting and tax records (a legal obligation), and, only if you typed one, to show your name on the Wall of Fame (with your consent).

When you activate a license, and about once a week afterwards, MaPC sends your license key to Gumroad to confirm that it’s valid and hasn’t been refunded. Your license is stored in your Mac’s Keychain.

The Wall of Fame

A name is published only if you type one in the Wall of Fame field at checkout, which says it is shown publicly. It appears on this website and in the app. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing support@mapc.games. We remove the name within 30 days, though copies already downloaded by the app or kept by search engines may take longer to disappear.

This website and email

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages and its domain is managed with Cloudflare. They may keep ordinary server logs, such as IP addresses, under their own policies. We don’t add analytics, advertising or cookies. Downloads are served from GitHub Releases.

Mail sent to support@mapc.games passes through Cloudflare’s email forwarding to our inbox. We use it only to answer you.

Who we share data with

Only the services that run MaPC for us: Gumroad (payments and licenses), GitHub (hosting and downloads), Cloudflare (domain and email forwarding), and our own email provider. We may also disclose data if the law requires it. We don’t sell or share personal data for advertising.

Other countries

These services operate internationally, including in the United States, so your data may be processed outside your country. They are responsible for protecting it under their own policies and the transfer safeguards the law requires.

How long we keep it

  • Sale records: as long as tax, accounting and legal rules require (usually several years).
  • Support emails: up to 24 months after the last message, unless we need them longer to resolve a dispute.
  • Wall of Fame names: until you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent you gave. California residents also have the right not to be treated differently for using these rights, and we don’t sell or share personal data. To use a right, email support@mapc.games. We’ll answer within one month (45 days in California), and may need to confirm it’s you. Some data, such as sale records, we must keep. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

MaPC is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where the law sets a higher age), and we don’t knowingly collect their data. Anyone who buys MaPC must be old enough to enter a contract where they live, or have a parent or guardian do it.

Security

All connections use HTTPS. Store login tokens are kept in a folder only your account can read, and your license is kept in the Keychain. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us at support@mapc.games if you find a problem.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and, for important changes, say so on the What’s new page.
